Sonic CrossWorlds: Gadget Tier List
Gadgets in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds are essentially perks, which drivers can equip before races to give them specific buffs or new ways to play. These Gadgets cover a number of aspects of gameplay, from improving items and enhancing drifting to helping players get off to a good start.
While all of them are good in their own right and can complement different playstyles if utilized correctly, the best Sonic CrossWorlds Gadgets are great in any situation.
Gadget Tier List For Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
The strength of Gadgets in Sonic CrossWorlds isn’t set in stone, as many of them complement each other. Some Gadgets can go from useless alone to extremely potent when paired correctly. Some Gadgets also take up 2 or even 3 slots due to their strength. Naturally, this lowers their ranking on the tier list as they take up slots that could be used for more Gadgets.
Some Gadgets are better in certain game modes. For example, anything that boosts speed will be great in Time Trials.

Many of the D-Tier Gadgets are too niche to be useful. For example, water and flight aren’t common enough to warrant a Gadget centered around them.
Some of these D-Tier Gadgets are also great for beginners who struggle to stay on the track or bump into walls. The buffs or items at the start of a race aren’t great, as it’s so easy to catch up from a bad start.
How To Unlock New Gadgets In Sonic CrossWorlds
New Gadgets are unlocked in different ways in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
- Some are available at the start.
- Some are granted upon finishing a full Grand Prix, comprised of four races.
- Some require a certain number of races to be finished. The thresholds are: 6, 18, 30, 46, 62, 78, 94.
- Some are unlocked by reaching new Ranks in online World Matches.
How To Unlock More Gadget Slots In Sonic CrossWorlds
At the start, players will only be able to equip one Gadget. However, they will eventually unlock more slots via new Gadget Plates, such as bronze, silver, and gold. There are a maximum of 6 slots.
These are unlocked simply by completing more races, both offline and online. Players can go to their Gadget Plate and hover over the locked slots to see how many more races they need to finish.
